Geranium pratense Victor Reiter strain

Meadow Cranesbill

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.230.930

This is unique among the hardy Cranesbills, being valued mostly for its stunning display of foliage. Leaves are large and deeply cut, with a rich purple shading in the spring, later fading more to green as the plants begin to bloom. Flowers are cup-shaped, violet-blue and held in loose sprays overtop of the foliage in late spring and early summer. Wonderful in mixed containers, in the border, or woodland garden. May benefit from a hard trim back after flowering is over, to rejuvenate the foliage.
