Jasione laevis

Shepherd’s Scabious

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.298.050

This Bellflower cousin forms a low tuft or mound of grey-green leaves, bearing balls of violet-blue flowers for weeks on end that look similar to a Scabious or Pincushion Flower. Prefers an acidic, well drained soil. Excellent in a rock garden, especially combined with Heaths and Heathers, but also suitable for a border or edging a pathway. Remove faded flowers to promote more buds to form. An unusual cut flower. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring if desired.
