Lobelia speciosa ‘Vulcan Red’

Hybrid Lobelia

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.328.390

The perennial Lobelias have upright spikes of large flowers, not at all like the more familiar trailing types grown in hanging baskets. They are terrific plants for the boggy garden, adapting well to ‘wet feet', but growing equally well under average conditions. This selection has a full, well-branched, uniform habit, bearing cardinal red flowers, on strong stems, mid summer through mid fall, against its deep-purple foliage. Excellent for using as a specimen or massing in the border, containers or tubs. Nice for cutting. Attractive to both butterflies and hummingbirds. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
