Paeonia lutea var. ludlowii

Tibetan Wild Peony

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.407.730

A rare Chinese form of tree peony, seldom offered. This forms a large woody shrub in time, with interesting tan-coloured stems. Large saucer-shaped blooms appear in late spring, in a beautiful clear yellow with deeper golden stamens. Foliage develops good golden-yellow autumn colour with contrasting pink leaf stems. Avoid doing any pruning except to remove dead branches. Shrubby peonies cannot be divided. Sometimes listed as P. delavayi var. ludlowii or as P. ludlowii.
