Phlox ‘Plumtastic’

Hybrid Moss Phlox

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.410.940

This hybrid moss was selected primarily for its long bloom season. Masses of light violet-pink flowers with a distinct white eye appear mid-spring and last for weeks. As the flowers mature they become dark rose-violet without the eye. Petals are broad and the plants are low and dense. Tightly clustered leaves remain evergreen with little winter damage. Selected from a cross of P. subulata and P. kelseyi. A light pruning is recommended immediately after flowering is complete. Developed by Dr. Jim Ault at the Chicago Botanic Garden for the the Chicagoland Grows® plant introduction program. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
