Prunella ‘Summer Daze’

Hybrid Self-Heal

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.447.160

Self-Heal, also known as ‘Allheal’ was named due to its alleged medicinal properties. Most are native to Europe, Asia, North Africa and North America and may be found in common lawn seed. They are dainty, low-growing plants, members of the mint family, that are very showy in the landscape and thrive in moist soils. This selection produces masses of rose-purple flowers that retain a lovely purple colour as they age. Long-blooming from late spring through late summer. The green leaves form a dense mat that have an occasional tooth or stunted lobe. Attractive to bees. Excellent as a groundcover, along pathways and in mixed containers. Attractive to butterflies. Divide clumps in spring or fall, if desired. A cross between P. grandiflora and P. laciniata. USPP#19609: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
