Hosta ‘Super Sagae’

Hosta

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.710.450

Hosta are among the most popular of perennials for shady areas, with hundreds of varieties now readily available. Plants form sturdy mounds of foliage, topped with lily-like blooms. This extra large sized selection features grey-green leaves with a wide yellow margin. Considered an improved sport of H. ‘Sagae’ but not like ‘Liberty’. Fragrant, lavender flowers appear in summer. Medium to slow grower. Leaves are thick in substance, so slugs should not be a problem. Hosta go completely dormant in the fall, and the dying foliage can be removed any time before mid spring. Easily divided in either spring or fall, but plants may be left alone for years.
