Ruffled Oak Fern

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 9.035.100

Oak Fern is one of our North American native species. Plants prefer a moist, rich woodland soil, and prefer areas with cool summer. Forms a small patch of branching triangular bright-green fronds, the tiny leaflets overlapping and ruffled. Slightly spreading in habit but not at all invasive. Beautiful for edging in the woodland or rock garden. Appreciates a mulch of rotting leaves to help retain soil moisture during the summer months. Deciduous. Sometimes known by the synonym Currania dryopteris ‘Plumosum'.
