Dianthus barbatus ‘Dash Crimson’
Sweet William |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 1.185.450
Sweet William is an old-fashioned cottage garden plant. This selection from the Dash series is unusual because it acts as a long-lived perennial, instead of a biennial. It bears masses of showy clusters of fragrant, velvety, crimson flowers with a tiny white eye, late spring into summer. Excellent as a cut flower. Plants are easily divided in early autumn or spring. Remove fading flowers to encourage more buds to form. Prune plants back hard in midsummer if they become scruffy or floppy.
