This is a rather unusual species, featuring tall, towering wands of honey-brown flowers in the summer months. Foliage is green, forming a large rosette at the ground in the first year, followed by flowers in the second. Generally acts as a self-seeding biennial. An unusual cut flower. Performs well in a moist border, or in the woodland garden. Any seedlings that appear may be easily moved in early spring. May need to be staked. CAUTION: Toxic if eaten.
