From a central orange-yellow cone the petals are distinctly horizontal, rather than drooping like the regular types. Plants form a showy upright clump, blooming summer through fall. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent for cutting. Bloom time is extended by deadheading but choose to leave some spent flowers on over the winter months to provide food for birds.
