Most often seen as a dried flower, the prickly heads of tiny white flowers are popular for using in wreaths and other arrangements. Plants produce a low rosette of leathery green leaves, bearing branching heads of flowers in mid to late summer. Short enough to use in the rock garden, edging or in containers, and reliable for producing a showy display. Drought tolerant once established. Plants must have good drainage, particularly in winter. Attractive to butterflies.
