Plant number: 1.545.090A little-known species of violet, similar to the popular winter pansy. Plants form a low mound of bright green leaves, bearing loads of deep violet-blue flowers, each bloom with a tiny yellow centre and a white whiskered face. Flowers are produced through the spring and into summer, even in hot summer regions. Nice in the rock garden or in pots. Flowers are edible. Remove faded blooms regularly to encourage more buds to form. This plant will self seed gently around when the site suits it well.
