| (='Berggold') A popular rock garden perennial for the spring garden, often seen growing with Arabis and Aubrieta. This forms a low, trailing mound of silvery-grey leaves, bearing masses of bright-yellow flowers in mid to late spring. Clip plants lightly after blooming to maintain a bushy habit. Requires good drainage. Clumps are not easily divided, but this may be attempted in early fall. Drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

It's hardier than basket-of-gold [Aurinia], with smaller but still silvery leaves, a shorter, denser habit, and fragrant, bright lemon-yellow flowers from midspring to early summer.; Larry Hodgson, Perennials for Every Purpose |
