| A little-known perennial that is native to Eastern North America, and ideally suited to the border or the wildflower meadow garden. Plants are long-lived, forming an arching clump of green willow-like leaves. Clusters of light-blue starry flowers appear on the ends of the stems in late spring and early summer. This plant is under-utilized in today's low-maintenance type of garden and deserves to be better known and appreciated for its dependable, sturdy habit. Flowers are also useful for cutting. Tolerates moist or dry sites.
