| Sea Hollies are loved by flower arrangers, the fresh or dried flowers are both excellent for cutting. This unusual species has gorgeous green foliage marbled with white veins, remaining evergreen in mild winter regions. Flowers are in branching heads, white with spiny blue bracts. Compact enough to include in the rock garden, in the sunny border or in containers. Plants are very tolerant of hot, dry sites once established. Most Sea Hollies will also tolerate salt spray and harsh conditions.

What others say about this plant...

Beautiful, evergreen, small rounded leaves form a handsome rosette; they are toothed and spiny with conspicuous white veins. The flowers are not striking; they are grey-blue with wide, white spiny collars, carried stiffly aloft on erect stems.; Graham Stuart Thomas, Perennial Garden Plants |
