Here's the complete description for this Heritage Perennial. Drop in any time to see the rest of our collection.

 Plant Number: 1.225.050USDA Zone: 2 - 9
Gentiana septemfida
Common name :  Summer Gentian
The Summer Gentians are among the easiest types for average garden conditions. Plants form a low, bushy mound of deep green, with royal-blue trumpet flowers appearing among the leaves in mid to late summer. While not as showy as the fall blooming types, these are much easier to grow in the rock garden, or as an edging. Also suitable for growing in alpine troughs or mixed containers. Plants are easily divided in early spring. In hot summer climates, these perform best in partial shade.

What others say about this plant...
It is a beguiling little wonder at the front of the border, smothered for a long period in up-facing rich cobalt blooms — so exotic-looking yet so undemanding.; Cathy Forgie, Zone 4",
