| An ornamental and non-weedy species, this forms a low mound or tuft of silvery-grey leaves, coated in soft and silky hairs. Taller stems of bright yellow shaggy daisies appear in summer. The blooms look a fair bit like dandelions but they contrast beautifully with the foliage. A very textural plant, excellent for edging, in the rock garden or in mixed containers and tubs. Slowly spreads to form a mat, and easily divided in the spring if desired. Cold hardiness is not fully determined: this could well survive in Zone 4 or colder.
