PerennialHeritage Perennial Profile

Here's the complete description for this Heritage Perennial. Drop in any time to see the rest of our collection.

 Plant Number: 1.359.200USDA Zone: 4 - 9
Melissa officinalis ‘All Gold’
Common name :  Golden Lemon-balm
This is a golden-leaved form of the common Lemon Balm, with uses as both a culinary herb and ornamental perennial. Plants form a low, bushy clump of bright golden-yellow leaves with an intense lemon fragrance and flavor. Insignificant mauve flowers appear in summer. May need protection from hot afternoon sun to prevent the leaves from scorching. A nice edging or tub plant. If the clump becomes too rangy by midsummer, simply hack it back to the ground to rejuvenate the foliage. Evergreen in mild winter regions.
