 | Oenothera acaulis ‘Aurea’ |
 | Common name : Dandelion Sundrop |
 | |
| Also sometimes called Evening Primrose, this delightful species has foliage that closely resembles a dandelion. Satiny yellow flowers are produced in succession, starting in late spring and continuing for several weeks, similar in shape to a poppy. Needs excellent drainage, so best grown in a sunny rock garden. Drought tolerant once established. Not a weedy or invasive plant. New plants may be easily started from seed, since the taproot makes division difficult. Native to Chile.
