| Native in the central and eastern USA, this is a long-blooming perennial, ideal for edging sunny borders, growing in a rock garden or cascading from a wall. It has a somewhat sprawly habit, bearing large funnel-shaped flowers of soft lavender mauve for months on end. Average to dry soils suit this perfectly well. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Clip back in late fall. Plants are late to appear in spring.
