PerennialHeritage Perennial Profile

Here's the complete description for this Heritage Perennial. Drop in any time to see the rest of our collection.

 Plant Number: 1.513.200USDA Zone: 3 - 9
Thalictrum flavum subsp. glaucum
Common name :  Yellow Meadow-rue
Meadow-rue has beautiful, lacy blue-green foliage a little bit like a Columbine or Maidenhair Fern in effect. This selection features cloud-like sprays of lemon-yellow flowers that are outstanding for cutting. Despite the delicate appearance, it is fairly tolerant of warm, humid summers. Plants are tall and narrow in habit, so staking is usually required. Clumps may be divided in early spring, but take a year or two to settle back in and reach a mature size.

What others say about this plant...
Yellow meadow rue is a beautiful backdrop for the blue flowers of aconites [Aconitum]. Plant the foreground with lower-growing plants with strong foliage, such as bergenias and helleborus.; Larry Hodgson, Perennials for Every Purpose
