 | Sambucus nigra Black Beauty™ |
 | Common name : Black-leaved Elder |
 | |
| (=‘Gerda’) This colourful Elder was selected in England for its amazingly black-purple foliage and stunning display of lemon-scented soft pink flowers. Well suited to the perennial border, some gardeners choose to prune plants back each spring to between 1 and 3 feet to encourage a compact form. This can also be allowed to grow without yearly pruning, making it more suited to the shrub border or as a background plant. Also excellent in large tubs as a focal point. USPP#12305, CPBR#2663: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
