 Plant Number: 8.090.100USDA Zone: 5 - 9
Carex dolichostachya ‘Kaga-nishiki’
Common name :  Gold Fountains Sedge
This Japanese selection is a low, clump-forming sedge, the handsome slender green leaves brightly edged in golden yellow. Excellent as an edging plant in moist shady areas, perhaps as a companion to Hostas or ferns. Also nice in mixed containers. Plants are sturdy and long-lived, remaining evergreen in mild winter regions. Clumps may be divided in spring, but each division should be fairly large in size for best results. In cool summer regions this will tolerate full sun with plenty of moisture.

What others say about this plant...
A superb selection from Kenji Watanabe of Gotemba Nursery in Japan, introduced to the United States by Barry Yinger. In Japanese, Kaga is the old name for the Ishikawa Prefecture and nishiki means 'brocade', an apt description for the lacy beauty of this finely gold-variegated sedge.; Rick Darke, The Color Encyclopedia of Ornamental Grasses
