Here's the complete description for this Heritage Perennial. Drop in any time to see the rest of our collection.

 Plant Number: 8.200.100USDA Zone: 3 - 9
Helictotrichon sempervirens
Common name :  Blue Oat Grass
Probably the best blue-leaved grass for average garden conditions. Plants form a well-behaved clump of bright silvery-blue leaves, with taller arching stems of flowers appearing in early summer. Non-spreading in habit, this will remain evergreen in mild winter regions. Requires good drainage, especially in warm summer regions. Clumps may be easily divided in spring. In cold regions the foliage sometimes needs to be tidied up with scissors in spring, but quickly regrows.

What others say about this plant...
The best of the mid-sized blue-leaved grasses… Delicate inflorescences appear in late spring, held more than 2 feet above the foliage on slender, arching stems. A cool-season grower, flowering best if plants are provided fertile, well-drained soil and if springtime conditions are cool and steadily moist.; Rick Darke, The Color Encyclopedia of Ornamental Grasses
