Coreopsis ‘Moonlight’
Hybrid Coreopsis |
USDA Zone: 6-9 |
Plant number: 1.165.420
A very long-blooming perennial for sunny areas, forming a bushy mound of deep-green leaves. The medium-sized pastel-yellow daisies have a small golden button centre, appearing in succession from summer to late fall. Flowers develop peachy tones in cooler autumn weather. Shear plants lightly in late July to encourage more buds. Terrific in containers. Plants may require some support if grown in very rich garden soil, or simply shear by half in July if they begin to flop open. Possibly hardy in Zone 5 or colder, with reliable winter snowcover. Needs a good deep root system to overwinter well; try to plant by midsummer. Said to perform well in regions with hot and humid summer conditions. A 2008 Terra Nova Nurseries introduction. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
