One of several recent hybrid selections, this is a real workhorse in the garden, flowering non-stop from midsummer well into the fall. It forms a low, bushy mound bearing dark upright spikes of rose-purple attracting hummingbirds, goldfinches and butterflies. The foliage has a spicy licorice scent adding to its garden appeal. Great in containers and in the mixed border. Requires excellent drainage, particularly during winter otherwise plants may rot and not survive. Introduced by Terra Nova Nurseries of Oregon.
