Quaking Grass |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 8.060.100
A delightful grass with a low to medium habit. Short clumps of deep-green leaves bear upright stems of delicate heart-shaped greenish-purple spikes in late spring and early summer. Excellent for cutting, fresh or dried. Foliage remains evergreen in mild regions. Versatile in the garden, tolerating most soils. Combines especially well with heath and heathers or dwarf conifers. Trim back in August to tidy up the clump and rejuvenate the foliage. Clumps are easily divided in fall or early spring. Drought tolerant once established. Cool-season.
