Carex oshimensis ‘Feather Falls’
Variegated Japanese Sedge |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 8.090.330
Sedges are grass-like plants, mostly preferring sites with moist, rich soil. This Japanese selection tolerates full sun without burning and forms a super-sized, cascading clump of white and green variegated leaves, highlighted with beautiful plumes of feathery flower stems that emerge in spring. A choice plant for edging, or in the rock garden. If the tips of the leaves get wind-burn over the winter, they may be trimmed with scissors in the spring. This is a well-behaved, non-spreading plant. Clumps may be divided in early spring. Evergreen.
