Caryopteris × clandonensis ‘Dark Night’
Plant number: 1.117.050
Although actually a woody shrub, Bluebeard is usually cut back each spring to 6 inches and treated more like a perennial. Plants form a bushy, upright mound of bright-green leaves, the fragrant dark-blue flowers forming on new wood in late summer and fall. Extremely attractive to butterflies! This selection is outstanding for having especially dark blooms. Choose a well-drained location in full sun. In mild winter areas, these are also excellent in tubs or mixed containers. Heat tolerant. Fairly drought tolerant, once established.
