Cheilanthes argentea
Silvery Lip-fern |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 9.020.020
An exception among shade-loving ferns, this Asian species prefers a loose, gritty rock garden type situation, in partial sun. Forms a low, tufted clump of star-shaped fronds, with a waxy white coating on the underside. Loves a site where the roots can stay cool and moist down among rocks. Great for wall gardens. Deciduous.
