Crambe cordifolia
Giant Sea Kale |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.170.050
A most bizarre and striking plant, something like a Baby’s Breath crossed with a cabbage! Huge green leaves are deeply lobed, forming a low mound. Clouds of tiny star-shaped flowers are held above on tall stalks in early summer. A long-lived specimen for the large border. Not easily divided, but seedlings may appear around the plant, and these can be moved while still small. Needs good drainage. Might be an interesting focal point to a large tub or container, in mild winter regions. When well grown, this makes for an unforgettable display.
