Siberian Wallflowers burst into flower in late spring, with small cross-shaped blooms held in clusters on upright stems. This strain produces flowers in a bright golden-yellow shade. Plants tend to act as self-seeding biennials, coming back year after year. Seedlings are easily moved in early autumn. Wonderful in the border or in meadows or other less formal areas. Delightfully fragrant and useful for cutting. Often listed as Erysimum allionii, the nomenclature of Wallflowers has been terribly mixed up for many years, but appears now to be sorted. Received a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (1993).
