Fallopia japonica Milk Boy

Variegated Japanese Knotweed

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.210.300

(='Variegata') Grown for its stunning foliage, this is a big plant, that unlike its very invasive green relative, will only spread slowly. Leaves are light green, heavily splashed with creamy-white and flushed with pink in the spring. Clusters of fragrant white flowers appear in late summer. The outstanding foliage is terrific for flower arranging, and is a nice backdrop to other plants in the garden. To control spreading ‘Milk Boy’ may be grown in a large tub or container. The green form should never be planted, as it has become a serious pest in several continents. Heritage Perennials however no longer produces and sells any form of Japanese knotweed.
