Fuchsia magellanica ‘Aurea’
Bush Fuchsia |
USDA Zone: 6-8 |
Plant number: 1.219.070
This is a shrubby species of Fuchsia, quite different from the types usually grown in hanging baskets. Plants form a bushy, upright clump of chartreuse-yellow leaves, bearing many delicate dangling bell-like flowers, crimson with a purple centre. Although fairly hardy, this may also be wintered indoors in a pot, then moved out again for summer. Plants benefit from a hard clip each spring, to keep them bushy and compact. In Zone 6 a heavy mulch in late fall will help to bring plants through the winter.
