Gaura lindheimeri ‘Whiskers Deep Rose’
Plant number: 1.224.360A North American wild flower, highly valued for its long flower display in the garden. This selection blooms for many weeks, with loose sprays of large, deep rose-pink flowers with contrasting white stamens that appear like whiskers. In the breeze these move constantly, looking like a cloud of small butterflies. Although Gaura may not always winter reliably, plants flower for the entire summer and fall, so consider using it even as an annual in colder winter regions. Excellent in containers, and for cutting. Plants must have excellent drainage to survive the winter. Heat and drought tolerant. Note that botanists have recently reclassified and named this species Oenothera lindheimeri.
