Gillenia trifoliata ‘Pink Profusion’
Plant number: 1.237.110(= Porteranthus trifoliatus) A relatively unknown but easy Eastern North American native wildflower, especially useful in woodland situations. Low mounds of divided bronzy-green foliage give rise to tall branching burgundy stems of soft-pink star-like flowers that dance and move in the slightest breeze. Excellent in shade to part shade. Particularly effective in a massed planting. Flower stems may require a little support to prevent flopping. Similar to the Butterfly Gaura in flower effect, but tolerant of shade.
