Iris ‘Bumblebee Deelite’
Intermediate Bearded Iris |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.286.250
Intermediate Bearded Iris are a little shorter than the Tall Bearded types, but equally as colourful and beautiful in the border. Plants form a clump of green sword-shaped leaves, blooming in late spring. This selection produces light yellow standards that are veined with purple at the base and dusky-purple falls that have a narrow yellow margin. Elegant. Excellent for cutting. Choose a sunny position, with a well-drained, loamy soil. Bearded Iris are heavy feeders, so plan to fertilize in early spring, and again in late summer. Plants should be divided every 3 to 4 years, in August. Be on the watch for Iris borer. 2002 Winner of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
