Papaver orientale ‘Place Pigalle’
Dwarf Oriental Poppy |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.401.840
Oriental Poppies provide a cheerful display of huge, satiny flowers in late spring and early summer. Plants form low clumps of coarse, hairy leaves, and usually go dormant, disappearing completely by late summer. This late-blooming dwarf selection has single white flowers with a striking picotee edging of salmon red, held of strong weatherproof stems. Part of the ‘Parisienne’ series bred by Eleanore de Koning of the Netherlands. One of the most compact varieties to yet be developed. The foliage is reported to stay in good condition for much longer than other varieties. One of the most exciting breeding breakthroughs in Oriental Poppies! USPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
