Phlox paniculata ‘Lord Clayton’
Summer Phlox |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.415.070
A remarkable breakthrough in Summer Phlox, this selection has leaves that emerge deep purple with lime-green veins in spring then later age to more of a bronzy purple-green. The clusters of flowers are bright cherry-red, emerging in midsummer. An outstanding border perennial but also worth trying in mixed containers. Excellent for cutting. Discovered as a seedling by Michigan gardener writer Tammy Clayton and introduced by Plants Nouveau. USPP#22960: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
