Raoulia australis
New Zealand Scab Plant |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 1.452.050
An unusual alpine from New Zealand, this forms an absolutely flat carpet of lead-grey foliage that will creep in between and over small rocks. Flowers are tiny and insignificant. An interesting choice for the alpine scree or trough garden, this plant offers a challenge to the gardener to find just the right spot with perfect drainage. Plants will perish in average border conditions. Clumps may be divided in early spring. Also known by the common name of Vegetable Sheep.
