A distinctive selection of the Sweet Coneflower, which is native throughout the Midwest and down to Texas. This forms a bushy mound, bearing tall branching stems that hold brown-eyed daisies with unusual narrow or quilled yellow petals, appearing in midsummer. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and great for cutting. The foliage is sweetly scented of vanilla. A good companion to perennial Hibiscus and Joe-Pye Weed. Grows in a variety of soil conditions from moist to fairly dry. Cut back to the ground in early spring.
