Plant number: 1.491.300(Formerly Cassia hebecarpa) This is a sturdy, upright-growing member of the pea family, native to eastern North America. Plants form a large bushy clump of dark green, lacy leaves, bearing large heads or spikes of golden-yellow flowers in summer. Dark brown seed pods hold interest well into the winter. A unique specimen plant for the border! Long-lived and hardy. Tolerant of hot, dry sites once established. Ideal for naturalizing in meadow or prairie plantings.
