Artemisia ludoviciana ‘Silver King’
Silver King Artemisia |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.075.030
This variety spreads to form a large patch, and is excellent as a fast-growing groundcover on steep sunny slopes and similar places. Plants form a bushy, upright patch of fragrant silvery leaves, bearing loose sprays of grey flowers in midsummer. Nice for cutting, and using in dried arrangements: simply hang bunches upside-down in a warm dark room. A little aggressive for the average perennial border, this may be contained with plastic edging, or simply grown in a large pot or tub. Drought tolerant, once established. Pruning hard after flowering will rejuvenate the foliage.
