Gentiana septemfida var. lagodechiana
Summer Gentian |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.225.060
The Summer Gentians are among the easiest types for average garden conditions. Plants form a low, trailing mound of deep green, with cobalt-blue trumpet flowers appearing among the leaves in mid to late summer. While not as showy as the fall blooming types, these are much easier to grow in the rock garden, or as an edging. Also suitable for growing in alpine troughs or mixed containers. Plants are easily divided in early spring. In hot summer climates, these perform best in partial shade.
