Lysimachia atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais’

Flowers are similar to the white Gooseneck Loosestrife (Lysimachia clethroides) but in a rich burgundy-purple shade with contrasting grey-green leaves. Blooms appear in midsummer. Appreciates even moisture but adapts well to average border conditions. Plants do not spread at the root or become invasive, though they may self seed a little. Should not be confused with the noxious weed Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria). Wonderful for cutting. Attractive to butterflies.
