Tricyrtis hirta ‘Albomarginata’

Toad-lily

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.522.060

Toad-lilies are rather bizarre, but rewarding plants, for late display in the shady garden. This selection has arching stems of dark green leaves, edged in creamy-white, and bearing open starfish-like flowers that are white with deep-purple spotting, and rather charming in their own, unusual way. Deserves a spot where it can be seen up close. Excellent as a cut flower. All Toad-lilies are among the last perennials to bloom, and give the gardener something fresh for ending the season. Plants are easily divided in early spring. Pinching during the summer can be used to reduce the height.
