Anemone WILD SWAN™

Hybrid Anemone

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.040.090

(=‘Macane001’) Anemone are outstanding plants for the late summer and fall garden. The branching stems of poppy-like flowers are superb for cutting. Plants prefer a rich, moist site, spreading to form a large patch. This selection, part of the Swan series, is a female parent plant of A. rupicola, making it a larger and more vigorous plant with continuous prolific flowering from mid-June until mid-November and is much larger than Japanese Anemone Hybrids. It features pure white flowers, each petal sporting a violet-blue band on the reverse. The flowers are held high above the foliage and have a nodding habit. Good for part shade. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the fall. Easily divided in early spring. May need to be staked by late summer. Winner of the 2011 Chelsea Plant of the Year Award. USPP#23132: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
