Helianthus salicifolius ‘Low Down’
Dwarf Willow-leaved Sunflower |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 1.252.240
The shortest of all perennial sunflowers, this is a terrific plant for adding a splash of bright colour to the front of a sunny autumn border. It forms a low mound of narrow green leaves, bearing sprays of bright golden-yellow single daisies with a brown eye. Great in containers too and an excellent cutflower. Attractive to butterflies. Plants combine beautifully with ornamental grasses and other fall bloomers, such as Garden Mums or Fall Asters. Seedheads have good winter interest. Prune plants back to the ground in early spring. From Blooms of Bressingham®. USPP#13150: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
