Lathyrus vernus ‘Spring Melody’
Spring Vetchling |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.312.150
Treasured for its charming effect in the spring woodland garden, this is a hardy perennial cousin to the familiar annual Sweet Pea. This forms a low mound of light green leaves, with an early spring display of pea-like flowers bicolored with soft pink and rose. Combines beautifully with Primula, Pulmonaria and other woodland perennials, as well as any of the spring flowering bulbs. Prefers a moist, partly shaded site that does not dry out. During summer drought the plants may respond by going dormant and disappearing until the following spring. Easy and unique!
